The active, energetic and inquisitive preschooler will be kept busy with a variety of activities. We believe the play base learning helps children get ready for school. Each class includes circle, story, crafts, active play and snack time (Supplied by you- healthy nut free please). Please bring children in weather appropriate clothes as we may utilize outdoors when possible.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30am - 11:30 am in MPR 1 and Gym
Children will have the opportunity to engage in a fun positive environment that focuses on fundamental movements like running, jumping, throwing, catching, balance coordination, agility and more! Through activities, obstacle courses and circuits, preschoolers will begin to develop confidence, motivation and competence to be active for life. Bring indoor shoes and a water bottle.

Explore movement and music through creative dance. This program aligns with the Physical Literacy goals of developing movement confidence, coordination, body awareness, and confidence in a fun environment. Children are encouraged to express their individual style and use their imagination while discovering the world of dance. This registered program will focus on the Active Start stage of the Sport for Life Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS): Balance, hop, gallop, jump, run, skip
Fundamental Sport Skills (FSS): Body awareness, coordination, flexibility, rhythm, leaping and landing, pivoting, agility, endurance and much more

Colourful tumbling mats invite and encourage toddlers to explore and discover body awareness as they enhance social and motor skills. Toddler size trikes, scooters, basketball nets, rockers and more finish the space to invite toddlers to move and explore. Meet other parents and children in this fun and energizing program.

Music and tumbling mats encourage fun and creative movement. Guided through activities for the first portion of the class, exploration and free play will follow.

Our Junior Kid's Zone will utilize our multi-purpose room and outdoor spaces in a creating a fun and positive environment that gets children moving while enjoying their favourite games and activities.
Have fun learning basketball skills and drills and enhancing coordination and ball handling.
Learn soccer basics Tuesday night at the YMCA with age specific skills, drills, and game play with instruction and supervision from our soccer coach.
