COVID-19 - CKW YMCA

COVID-19

Latest Updates

Updated: November 15, 3:00pm

On November 13th, 2020, we learned of updates to our regional response to the province’s new, colour-coded COVID-19 response framework (COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open). This change takes effect at 12:01 AM on Monday, November 16, 2020.

The A.R. Kaufman YMCA, Chaplin Family YMCA and Stork Family YMCA are moving to the ORANGE - RESTRICT level of classification.

What does this mean for you?

We continue doing the following:

  • Face coverings required at all times, except when exercising

  • Increased spacing between members to 3m in common workout spaces

  • Class sizes limited to 10 people per room indoors

  • Collection of contact information for all members

  • Ensuring members are booked into the facility. For group fitness, pool, track and courts, this will continue through GameTime. For the conditioning centre, screeners will book members into spaces upon arrival

We start doing the following:

  • Limit of 50 members in the building (members using the pool are not counted in this)

  • Member visits to the Y will be limited to 90 minutes

  • Current session of swim lessons will continue and only one parent/guardian will be allowed to accompany the child

  • All other children's programs (for ages 12 and under) will be paused beginning Saturday, November 21, 2020

  • Changerooms remain open

We appreciate that these changes impact your experience of the Y, and we’re committed to working with you to make these changes as seamless as possible.

Going forward, if our Public Health unit alert level changes, we’ll be notifying you via email and on our website.

We’re in this together. We’re stronger together. We’re here for good.
