The LIT Month

  • LIT participants spend 4 weeks at camp to learn how to become strong leaders and potential future counsellors.

The program is customized at each camp to build strong future staff specific to each individual location
  • The goals of program are the same at all three overnight camps:  All LITs will focus on leadership skills (communication, problem solving, initiative, etc.) along with camp specific skills (canoeing, sailing, archery, etc.).

How to Apply

To complete the application, please visit ytr.campbrainregistration.com
1) Sign in using your email account used to register for camp last summer (the same email we contacted you with).
2) Select the camp for which you wish to apply
3) Select "LIT Application 2021" and follow the steps. Please note you must select your month preference and indicate your years as a camper.
Ensure that you submit your application at the end, and you will receive an email confirmation.
3) That's it! You will hear from the camp in February to inform you if have been offered a position in the LIT program, or on the waiting list (please see important notes below)

Lottery Process

In the event of over subscription, if a particular month receives more applicants than there are spaces, we will conduct a lottery draw. Ballots will be given for the number of years your campers have been with us. Anyone whose name is not drawn will be put on a waiting list – but don’t fret, it’s our experience that every year we move through a majority of the waiting list and are able to offer spots.

We are busy planning to ensure that our LIT program can be a safe and fun experience for your camper. Health and safety is our primary concern this year. To that end, we have reduced the number of spaces that we normally offer to follow the current requirements of Public Health. Direction from the provincial government can and likely will change in the upcoming months and should we need to further reduce capacity, we will communicate with all families. Thank you for your support and patience during these unprecedented times.

Successful LITs will be invited back to be a Counsellor in Training (CIT) at the same camp in 2022
