Thank you for your continued trust and patience as we work out our cautious approach to re-opening day camps. Camper and staff health and safety amidst this global pandemic is our number one priority.

Why Choose the Y Day Camps?

As Canada’s largest camp provider, the YMCA of Three Rivers (YTR) offers a safe and inclusive camp experience for all children ages 4 – 12 years. When you choose YMCA of Three Rivers summer day camps, you are given the option between a day camp setting in the comfort of a YMCA building, community facility, or a one-of-a-kind ‘unplugged’ camp experience at one of our amazing outdoor, lake-front camp locations.

At all locations we provide quality programming, unique to the features of that site, so campers get the most out of their week. Regardless of the location you choose your camper will have the opportunity to learn new skills, try new activities and build lasting friendships in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Y Day Camp Staff

Our entire camp team is made up of individuals who are fun, energetic and are passionate about ensuring a successful camp experience for each child! It is our priority to provide an inclusive, engaging and caring environment everyday at camp.

All staff are certified in:

  • Standard First Aid & CPR-C
  • High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development/ YMCA Healthy Child Development
  • Complete extensive training focused on leadership, inclusivity, behaviour support, how to help campers develop, grow foster friendships and build confidence in themselves

Day Camp Site Coordinators are located at each site and provide support to Counsellors, Inclusion staff and LIT’s throughout the summer. It is the role of the Site Coordinators to oversee the smooth operation of each camp day, plan and implement camp programming, and support the camp team.

YMCA Day Camp Inclusion Support – NEW!

Inclusion Facilitators provide additional support for campers who may require it to be successful at camp. Inclusion Facilitators are specifically trained to provide support to campers with disabilities, behavioural challenges, and to assist counsellors in dealing with difficult situations that arise throughout the day. Families are welcome to apply to have their camper supported by an Inclusion Facilitator.

Update: Inclusion Support is now full at all camp locations for Summer 2021. Campers who require 1:1 or additional support to be successful at camp are welcome to bring an external support worker to camp with them. Please contact Sydney at 519-570-6582 or daycamp@ytr.ymca.ca (Subject line: Inclusion) to inform us of any external support workers or to place yourself on our waitlist for YMCA Inclusion Support at camp.

Y Summer Day Camp Sites 2021

The YMCA of Three Rivers Day Camps operate two different types of Day Camp programs:

  • Outdoor Camp: At various outdoor sites across Waterloo Region and Wellington County
  • At the Y Camp: Camp at your local family YMCA building or local school

Outdoor Camps

Calling all children and youth who love to explore nature and the outdoors! These sites offer a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience for campers based on the unique landscape of the camp location -many of these camps are located directly on beautiful local lakes and beaches! Our Y Outdoor Day Camps inspires campers to build connections with nature and their peers and encourage campers to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new. This is a great way to introduce children to the traditional camp experience, while staying close to home.
