Horseback Riding
Campers travel by bus at 9:00 am to Windamere Equestrian in Baden for the morning, and arrive back at the YMCA around 12:30 PM. While at the stable, campers will learn about safety and ride horses, learn about and participate in the some basic care and chores, and other games and activities during the day. Parents are invited Friday morning to a horse show.

Cooking
Calling all chefs! This camp is for children who enjoy being in the kitchen and are interested in learning basic cooking skills. Put on your aprons and get ready to chop, mix, stir, melt and bake, while being provided fun food facts, including food safety and nutritional information. (Please be advised that we can not ensure an allergy-free zone.) Campers will travel by bus to *The Real Canadian Superstore for a half day of cooking program and return to the Y for traditional camp activities.

Dance
The YMCAs of Cambridge & Kitchener-Waterloo partner with qualified dance instructors to offer the ultimate dance experience. Dance Camp features a variety of different dance styles such as ballet, lyrical, contemporary, modern, jazz, and musical theatre. Classes are creative, dynamic, energetic, fun and a great way to learn dance techniques and meet new friends. Dance spend their time in the dance portion of the day preparing for an end of the week performance for family and friends. Come with us and discover the love of dance! No previous dance experience is necessary.

Junior Lifeguard
Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a lifeguard? Join one of our YMCA Lifeguards for a fun-filled and wet week of learning the "ins" and "outs" of life guarding. Experience and learn about the importance of daily life guarding routines such as: wearing a uniform, effective communication between guards, including whistle blowing and hand signals, shadow-guarding, making your own first aid kit, and taking a pool test. Campers spend the day in program with a certified YMCA Swim Instructor / Lifeguard on-site at the YMCA and have the opportunity to earn their Basic or Emergency First Aid and CPR certifications. Campers must be able to swim the full length of the pool.

Junior Triathlon
Do you enjoy swimming, biking and running? Come out and meet new friends and work on drills and endurance in our Jr. Triathlon Camp. Participants have the opportunity to learn new fitness skills, learn about good nutrition habits and healthy lifestyle choices while having fun and setting goals. On the last day of the camp, participants will be challenged to complete a mini triathlon within the facility to showcase all of their hard work. Campers will spend the full day in program with a certified YMCA Swim Instructor / Lifeguard. All biking will be done on our indoor spin bikes.

Eco Explorers
Campers travel by bus each day to the Laurel Creek Nature Centre actively exploring and getting their hands dirty in the natural world! We'll discover and observe the amazing living things that call the forest, field, marsh and streams their home. We'll take a closer look by turning over rocks and logs, and scooping water, and learn how some land and water creatures survive, interact with, and rely on one another in their natural habitats. Campers spend approximately half of their day at the YMCA in traditional camp programming such as swimming, crafts and games.

*Where applicable, all fees listed above include what we pay the provider. The fee we pay for cooking camp participants (not including trasnporation and supervision by our staff) is $20 + HST per day, per camper.
