Family Cabin Rentals

Experience a weekend at Camp Waabanaki as a family in the cabins you called home when you were a camper.

Camp Waabanaki is a true northern camp with beautiful mature maple forests, towering pines, granite rocks and cliffs beside a clear, deep-blue northern lake. Located on Lake Vernon, outside of Huntsville, Ontario, Waabanaki sits on a 40-acre site consisting of a large and small island and 23 acres of mainland.

Camp highlights

 

  • Beach front and docks with qualified lifeguards on duty daily from 1 to 5 p.m.

  • Swimming, water trampoline, and the famous "blob"

  • Boating, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Personal floatation devices (PFDs) are supplied.

  • 1.8 km loop of beautiful trails for hiking and mountain biking

  • Basketball court

  • Sports playing field

  • Campfires

  • Facilitated program options will be available for sign up

Cabin amenities

 

  • Traditional log bunk beds with mattresses

  • Small folding table and chairs

  • Picnic table with umbrella for each cabin

  • Campfire near each cabin, supplied with firewood

  • Motor boat docking available and boat launch is 10 minutes away at Avery Beach Park

  • Wi-fi

  • Shared washrooms with flush toilets and hot and cold running water

  • Morning dips with biodegradable shampoo and conditioner supplied 

 

Yurt amenities

 

  • Sleeps four to five, complete with two bedrooms with two beds in each room

  • Only a 15 minute walk by trail from the main camp area

  • Large common room with benches

  • If more space is needed there are three teepees with 10 beds in each nearby

  • Composting toilet

  • Large deck with a gas BBQ

  • Rustic camp experience with no wi-fi, running water, or electricity

  • Canoes, paddles, personal floatation devices (PFDs) are supplied

  • Campfire supplied with firewood

  • Private dock for swimming and boat docking (boat launch is 10 minutes away Avery Beach Park)

  • Morning dips with biodegradable shampoo and conditioner supplied 

Meals

 

  • Continental breakfast with coffee and tea is offered at staggered times throughout the morning

  • BBQs are available at your location or to sign out

  • A la carte take out meal packages are available for $15/person/day (children ages five and under eat free)

  • Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice
