Volunteers make a significant contribution to our organization. The YMCAs of Cambridge and Kitchener-Waterloo have approximately 1000 volunteers who give over a total of 55,000 hours each year. Without the support of volunteer staff, we could not offer the many programs and services we provide to our members. Contact one of our Volunteer Coordinators for more details.

What volunteer opportunities are available?

We have many areas for individuals to show their talents. Volunteer opportunities exist in Fitness, Aquatics, Preschool, Youth, Teen, Camps, Member Services, Facility Maintenance, Food Court, Ontario Early Years Centre, Afterschool Antics, International
Programs, Childcare, Host Program and Financial

Do I need to get a Police Records Check in order to volunteer?

You will need to submit a current Police Records Check (current within three months) before beginning volunteer service.

Are there benefits for volunteering for the YMCA?

Volunteers enjoy benefits that come in all forms. We invest in our volunteers with area specific training, personal feedback, and the opportunities to demonstrate leadership.  Many training opportunities are available such as fitness instructor and weight room trainer.
