K-W YMCA Endowment Foundation

Planned Giving

Established in 1977, the KW YMCA Endowment Foundation is an independent registered charity that raises funds to support the work of the KW YMCA. The income it earns provides a dependable revenue source to meet changing needs and provide quality programs and services to the community.

The funds held by the Foundation are held in perpetuity. A portion of the interest earned by the funds is directed annually to support the YMCA's charitable mission, while the remaining interest is reinvested to preserve the capital.

With your support, the Endowment Foundation functions as a sustainable and enduring resource to help fuel the YMCA's programs and services now, and well into the future.

An unrestricted gift to the KW YMCA Endowment Foundation gives the Foundation the greatest flexibility to address the needs of the YMCA. However, you may wish to direct your donation to one of the following existing funds:

Named Funds

Camp Environmental Sustainability Fund

Revenues used to support the development of educational components of the Outdoor Centre

Camp Fund

Revenues used for the development, operation and involvement of youth within outdoor and camping programs

General Fund

This fund has unrestricted limitations to fund the betterment and potential expansion of any area of the KW YMCA

International Sponsorship Fund

Supports KW YMCA overseas partnerships in developing countries as well as global educational programs right here in our own community

Membership Support Fund

Will support individuals and families with the greatest need, to participate in KW YMCA membership programs

Onawaw Margaret Govan Fund

Proceeds to be used to assist young girls to attend Camp Wabanaki either as campers or leaders-in-training

Heritage Club

Endowment Foundation donors also have the unique option to become part of the Heritage Club. Heritage Club members choose to give $10,000 now or via their estate. This extraordinary group of like-minded people share a special connection to the YMCA and have made a gift to ensure the quality programs and services will last for generations to come.

Heritage Club members are invited to an annual Heritage Club event, YMCA events and receive special recognition in the annual report and on the donor wall.
