Astley Family Foundation

Thank you to the Astley Family Foundation for investing in programs for Newcomer Youth in our community. In 2009, 89 youth between the ages of 13 and 17 attended the YMCAs Newcomer Youth Program. This program provides an inclusive environment to facilitate integration into a new way of life by breaking down cultural barriers, providing access to community resources and supports and assisting in the development of a positive social network for new Canadians.

Grand River Imaging & Photographic Society (GRIPS)

Thank you to GRIPS for donating proceeds from their June event featuring author/photographer Andre Gallant. The funds raised will assist new Canadian children to attend summer day camp at the YMCA.

The Jumpstart program provides YMCA memberships to children who, without financial assistance, would not be able to have a YMCA membership. The YMCAs of Cambridge and Kitchener-Waterloo would like to thank TD Bank Financial Group for sponsoring the 2010 Strong Kids Campaign. TD's sponsorship has enhanced the visibility and capacity of our annual appeal which supports children, youth and families who require financial assistance in order to participate in YMCA programs and activities.

The staff, volunteers and members of the A.R. Kaufman Family YMCA would like to thank Leo's Cafe for raising $413.50 this year by holding a lemonade stand to help the 2010 Strong Kids Campaign!

President's Choice Children's Charity

The YMCA of Cambridge would like to thank President's Choice Children's Charity for their support of the Just Hangin' Out Program. The program gives teens with disabilities the opportunity to make new friends in a fun and supportive environment. Once a week teens meet at the Z beside the Y for dinner, recreational activities and guest speakers. PC Children's Charity is dedicated to helping children who are physically or developmentally challenged by providing these young people with a renewed sense of dignity, independence and freedom.
