Mentorship

Mentorship - empower newcomers with professional backgrounds

The YMCA Mentorship Program is designed for internationally trained professionals (ITPs) who have been in Canada for less than 3 years and have not yet worked in their field of expertise. The program will match them with experienced professionals from Canada based on shared education and similar work experience to provide guidance, give insights and expand networks.

You are welcomed to join the program as a Mentee if you are:

  • An internationally trained professional with valid confirmation of credentials
  • Legally employable in Canada
  • Possess English proficiency of level 7 or above (based on Benchmark score with valid proof)
  • Received employment preparation support from Employment Service provider in Canada (Have updated Canadian Style resume, Cover-letter and able to identify the jobs you can do in Canada)

If you are interested in joining the program, please complete Mentee's Application and send it along with your resume to Program Facilitator at ewassef@ckwymca.ca. The Program Facilitator will contact you and invite you to an orientation session.

If you are empathetic, sensitive and dedicated professional with good understanding of current Labour Market and willing to help professional newcomers, you might be interested in joining our team of volunteer Mentors.
