Welcome to our new website!

If you're reading this message, you are among the first to discover that the YMCAs of Cambridge & Kitchener-Waterloo have a new website. At this point, the site still has a few glitches so please forgive us if you stumble upon any of them. The vast majority of the site though is ready to serve you. If you discover any glitches before we clean them up, please let us know using the feedback link above so that we can be sure we correct them all.

Tips on using our new website

How to get around

  • The Main Menu - At the top of each page, there is a menu that presents YMCA programs according to your needs. Each menu features all the programs offered by the YMCA to groups of typical participants. This menu helps you directly to get to the information you want with as few clicks as possible.
  • The Search Tool - If you prefer to search rather than surf for your information, there's a search bar on the top right of every page that will get you there quickly.
  • All YMCA Programs - If you prefer to have the full menu in front of you, click on the button at the bottom right of every page. It lists all of the most common YMCA sites and programs that you are most likely to want to visit. It's like a high level site map without listing every page on the site—but yes, there is a full site map you can access too with a link at the bottom of every page.
  •  Getting around inside the site - Once you are inside the website, you'll see menus on the left side of all pages. These help you to get around inside each of the website's sections. Each button describes a category of pages, click on one to see what your options are without leaving your current page. Then pick the page you want or another category of options. If a category only has one page, clicking on it will take you directly there.

Multiple entry points

Our new website reflects your everyday experience with the YMCA. People use more than 40 doors to get into "their" YMCA and many phone numbers, so we have set up the website so that you can go directly to the section that matches how you most frequently use the YMCA. In addition to our front door ymcacambridgekw.ca, we have created a series of side doors:

Everyone who enters through one of these side doors still has access to everything else the YMCA offers across Waterloo Region through the navigation tools described here that are found on every page.
